About Event

Runners Convention will include Virtual Runs as part of the Challenge. Participants can choose to complete 25km, 50k, or 100km for the Road Challenge or Trail Challenge. You can sign up for both Challenges. You have up to 30 days to clock your distance and once you have completed you will receive an e medal and a finisher tee. This year we have adopted a charity organisation, World Vision Singapore and the proceeds collected from registration fewer expenses will go to our beneficiary’s project – The Nepal Education project.

Poverty is high in Nepal, with close to 24% of the population below the national poverty line and just over 16% under USD 1/day. Only 29.3% of girls finish secondary school compared to 53.5% of boys. 75% of grade 3 children cannot read a grade level text with fluency and comprehension. I believed that all Children should receive proper education and being educated is the way to beat poverty. “Being Singaporean, we are very fortunate to receive proper education and nobody is left behind and I hope with this event, I can reach out to more people to join me in helping the less fortunate to be able to chase their rainbow!" Liew Wei Yong, founder of Train Live Compete.

We have Mira Rai, an international trail runner from Nepal and National Geographic’s Adventurer of the Year 2017 as our Guest Speaker. As a child, she had to walk for two-three hours over steep hills to collect water. She left her school at the age of 12 to help her parents in daily household chores when her family couldn’t afford her education. She was discovered by a trail running race organiser. She is now a world-class runner, winning international trail running competitions in Nepal, Hong Kong, Italy and France and inspiring many young village girls to achieve their dreams. She will be sharing her story and leading the road running clinic on 17th and trail running clinic on 18th. We will also have Physiotherapist, Sharon Lim of Moving Space to talk about dispelling myths on common running injuries prevention and management. Tham Wai Yee, ex-national netballer, master of sports science and owner of SWEAT training studio will be teaching the runners on Strength Running - how to run strong.
