We’ve got good news and bad news about the upcoming Men’s Health Women’s Health Night Run AIA Vitality 2017 event, scheduled to flag off on 22nd July from the new location at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang.

The good news is that you still have time to register. More good news is that despite the fact that it’s a night run, it’s a family-friendly affair so kids can join the fun.

Bad news? Registration time is about to come to an end, so you don’t have much time to sign up. Oh, and here’s more good news: we’re going to make it easy for you to say yes to being part of this lively affair by offering you 10 reasons you won’t want to be left out of what could become the highlight of your family’s year.

Reason #1: A Distance For Anyone

There are so many categories available to runners, choosing just one could be problematic. There’s a distance for everyone: 0.7km, 3km, 5km, 12km and 21km, most offering open men’s and women’s categories and several designed just for kids and teens, so nobody is left out.

Reason #2: Kid-Friendly Event

The urban terrain is easy to navigate so no worries about obstacles, hills and rugged terrain that could present challenges after the sun goes down. This kid-friendly event makes a great way to introduce your child to the joy of competitive running and you can be sure it will make a big impression on him if this is his first adventure “abroad.”

Reason #3: Run With Many New Friends

You will be in terrific company. This popular run attracts around 20,000 participants so you’ll be surrounded by like-minded athletes who are eager to meet their own personal challenges and set new personal bests. Make friends and enjoy camaraderie at the race village where plans are underway for entertainments for all ages that run the gamut from food to live music.

Reason #4: Everyone Is Invited

You don’t have to leave the kids or granny at home! There are events on the menu for everyone from age 7 to age 70 (including veterans) so bring the kids and other active family members to Malaysia for a family-focused good time. If you’ve got a huge family, you could qualify for a group discount! It doesn’t hurt to ask.

Reason #5: Beautiful Race Tee Design

Who doesn’t love adding new commemorative t-shirts to their stash? Whether you pack them away with other treasures, hang them on your walls to remember your accomplishment or wear them to the gym to commemorate your run, this year’s bright red shirt comes in so many sizes, a bad fit is nearly impossible. Wear your tees as a family after the event to show the world how much you enjoy running as a family.

Reason #6: Even Better Finisher’s Medal

Show off that finisher’s medal once you’ve accomplished your goal. Each of these treasures is engraved with the specific distance, so this is more than a badge of pride and honour; it’s also a motivating token of accomplishment for children who may want to hang it in their room or take it to school to show off their victory to peers.

Reason #7: New Runcation

You’ve always wanted to visit Selangor and if you make the Men’s Health Women’s Health Night Run a 2017 family vaca, your kids can learn about this destination while you’re there and bring back details of their adventure to school mates and teachers. It’s been proven that children exposed to new cultures grow up to be more open-minded, tolerant and curious – and don’t you want to encourage these traits in your youngsters?

Reason #8: Experienced Event Organiser

The main sponsor, “Men’s Health Women’s Health” magazine, oversees a race that’s so well organised, forget about frustrations that can plague badly-designed events. The course layout is conducive to big crowds and all manner of checks and balances will be in place to make sure conditions are excellent, there’s no confusion and there are adequate numbers of hydration stations and services.

Reason #9: Race Pack Delivery

The deadline for early bird registration has ended, but you still have a chance to fit this event into your summer schedule as you have until 23rd June to make your decision and see to your arrangements. Further, your race pack(s) can be delivered to you in Singapore because that option is available until 12th June, so take advantage of this perk.

Register now at Spacebib and makes the idea of taking a family runcation even more enticing, so get on this right now.

What are the funniest memories you recall when you think about travelling with your parents as a child – or more recently, when travelling with your own children? We’re eager to learn how you survived either experience!
