Decathlon SA, the global sports equipment and apparel retailer opened its flagship store in Singapore on 15 January 2016 in Technopark@Chai Chee (TPCC), near Bedok Town Centre.

The 35,000 ft store provides more than 95,000 items of footwear, apparel and equipment products for men, women and kids from over 50 different sports, with 20 in-house brands. This is set to be the largest collection of sports equipment and apparel under one roof in Southeast Asia, and Decathlon plans to expand in Singapore with 21 more outlets in the near future. With the move, Decathlon is set to bring accessibility of sport to all Singaporeans.

Sport should not be expensive, and Singaporeans should be able to access high-performance sports equipment and apparel at an accessible price point. Decathlon will provide Singaporeans with the largest range of high quality, innovative products available anywhere in Southeast Asia – at price points that are guaranteed to be 20-40% less than any other sports retailer. Our new store in Technopark@Chai Chee (TPCC) is just the start of Decathlon’s mission to bring sport to all Singaporeans.

says Bastien Grandgeorge, CEO of Decathlon SA for Singapore and Indonesia.

The store contains various areas that will allow customers to try out Decathlon products before they purchase, including testing zones, where customers can try out sports and activities such as table tennis, mini golf, cycling and the trampoline. Outside, Decathlon has developed a playground and basketball court that is open everyday, seven days a week and is free of charge.

Decathlon Hiring Interview

Decathlon is setting out to hire a local workforce of 400 with the opening of their planned 21 outlets. Singaporeans who do apply for a job, however, should not expect to attend a traditional interview. In order to attract just the right candidate who fits the Decathlon culture, all applicants will attend a ‘Decathlon Sportsday’, which includes taking part in a team sport such as Football or Basketball, a casual lunch with the Decathlon leadership team and sit-down chats with the store manager.

The Decathlon store is open every day from 9.00am to 10.00pm (closing on select Public Holidays) and is located on Ground Level of Technopark@Chai Chee (TPCC), Chai Chee Road, Singapore 469001.
