After the successful launch of the car-free event, ‘Let’s Lepak at Mount Faber’ in August, two new activities were introduced to support Singapore’s goal of becoming a ‘car-lite’ society.

The free activities will be on Saturday, 3 September 2016, with the first activity featuring a heritage and nature guided walk along a section of the Southern Ridges.

First Activity

Co-organised by Mount Faber Leisure Group and NParks, the two-hour walk kicks off at 4.30pm at Telok Blangah Hill Park, passing through Henderson Waves and Mount Faber Loop which will be closed off from traffic for the car-free event, before ending at the hilltop at Faber Peak.

Participants will get a chance to witness spectacular views of the city and Sentosa from different vantage points while at the same time learning about the rich variety of flora and fauna as well as the rich heritage found along the ridge.

Registration for the first activity can made at this registration link.

Second Activity

The second event features Orienteering, a sport where runners have to find their way across terrains with the aid of a compass and map. Co-organised by Active SG, this activity enables the participants to utilise both their navigation and map reading skills.

The Orienteering activity is between 4pm – 6.30 pm and starts from Mount Faber Loop. Each participant who completes all ten checkpoints, will stand a chance of winning prizes upon completion of the event.

To register for the Orienteering activity, you can either download the ActiveSG App by search for ‘Orienteering @ Mount Faber 2016′ at the app store, or visit the ActiveSG site.

Organised by Mount Faber Leisure Group through the ‘Streets for People’ initiative and supported by NParks, ‘Let’s Lepak at Mount Faber’ is aligned towards Singapore’s push to become a “car-lite” city.

Streets for People is a programme by the Urban Redevelopment Authority that supports community-initiated projects to transform our streets into meaningful public spaces.
