After a stellar first outing last year with more than 2,000 survivors in 2015, the Men’s Health Survival of the Fittest will return to Sydney this summer on 10 December 2016 at the Sydney Olympic Park.

Packing over 50 obstacles in the 10km course, the world’s largest urban adventure race series will return with a vengeance.

Race Course

Participants can expect a stunning 10km course punctuated with 10 unique and challenging Survival obstacle zones. Each zone is themed and produced to meticulous Survival standards for you to pit your wits against a test of stamina, speed, grits and guts.

Expect big builds and epic obstacles, including The Boardwalk that brings you Takeshi’s castle style action as you test your grip and balance on a swinging cargo net before transferring to a boarded wall.

The dense and gritty themed obstacle zones will also feature classic obstacles such as the Tele Rope Climb that is a real killer on the arms, as well as a mud course at the Pool Party.

Johnny’s Balls will bring out the child in you with a ball pool, but with a twist – hundreds of inflatable beach balls will fill the space under cargo nets and hamper your way as you bear-crawl through the obstacle.

Joe Mangle is out to flatten you as you squeeze through tightly lined tyres and fight for space to breathe.

Not forgetting the signature Airbag Jump unique to Survival, the obstacle will bring out your guts as you do a free-fall jump and experience a high drop onto a massive inflatable pillow.

The course that packs more than 50 obstacles will push your body to its absolute limits as you will be running, jumping, climbing and crawling your way through water, mud and intense sunshine.

It took the fittest survivor 48 minutes to navigate to the finish line in Sydney last year.

Post-Event Festivities

Once the race is behind you, get back to base, hit the bar, grab a drink, and bask in the glory of being a Survivor.

Apart from the signature beer tent and outdoor beer gardens, the race village will also feature live MCs, music, food and a free finish line photo booth to capture your victorious moment.

Pricing

The registration fee per participant ranges from AU$75 to AU$135, dependent on the various team and early bird discounts that you may qualify for.

All participants will receive entitlements including an event t-shirt, finisher’s medal, on course photography, and water & chocolate at the finish.

As the spirit of Survival is about taking part, there will be no prizes for wave winners and overall event winners. Survivors who place first to third outright for both male and female, will be celebrated and announced post-event.

Even as you get in line at the start, you are already a winner. You had done what most failed to do – you showed up and tried.

Sign up now with RunSociety’s code WORD10 to get 10% off by end of October to beat the next price hike.
