The 8th edition of the Salomon X-Trail Run returns this year on Saturday, 8 October 2016 with a refreshing trail route consisting of more hills, slopes and gravel close to the heart of nature at Punggol.
This event is part of the Salomon X-Trail Series in the Asia-Pacific Region, having also made appearances in neighbouring countries such as Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Philippines.
Race Route
As with the Salomon X-Trail branding, the event is reputable for its technical trail running race with a mixture of different terrain surfaces including dirt, rocks, sand and concrete paths.
The upcoming edition in Singapore is no exception. Flagging off in the late afternoon at 4p.m. from 50 Punggol East, trail runners will be up against a challenging trail route running through unmarred icons such as the Punggol Promenade Nature Walk and Serangoon Island.
The different terrain surfaces throughout the course are sure to inject participants with a boost of adrenaline rush as they blaze through the arduous route.
Race Categories
Similar to previous editions, the Salomon X-Trail Run 2016 will cover a distance of 10km for the following categories, with the minimum age of participation set at 16 years old (as of 31 December 2016).
- Men’s Open – 16 years old and above
- Men’s Veteran – 45 years old and above
- Women’s Open – 16 years old and above
- Women’s Veteran – 45 years old and above

Participants’ Entitlement
All participants are entitled to a finisher’s medal, an event t-shirt and a Salomon shoe bag. The race pack collection will be held on Saturday, 1 October 2016, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Salomon (#01-53), Kallang Wave Mall.
