The Bloody Long Walk in Sydney on Sunday, 21 October 2018 is a 35km challenge to cure mitochondrial disease (mito) from Pioneers Park Malabar to First Fleet Park at Circular Quay.

Walk, jog or run and enjoy spectacular scenery whilst raising vital funds to help find a cure for mito. Mito is a debilitating and potentially fatal genetic disorder that impairs the body’s ability to convert food into the energy needed to power muscles and major organs; 1 in 200 people are at risk of developing mito.

One Australian child born each week suffers a severe or life-threatening form of mito (and half will die in childhood), making it the second most commonly diagnosed serious genetic disease after cystic fibrosis. A further 20 Australian children born each week are at risk for developing a milder form of mitochondrial disease or other related symptoms such as diabetes, deafness or seizures.

Distances/Events: 35km
