Pocari Sweat Run 2016

At the end of 2009, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) found evidence of water on the moon. Based on our philosophy of creating new products for better health worldwide, Otsuka Pharmaceutical is launching a POCARI SWEAT Capsule to the moon, in support of mankind’s continuous exploration into the unknown since its birth in 1980. This project is called the Lunar Dream Capsule Project.

Astronauts struggle to maintain their health while travelling in space and one of the major contributing factors is Proper Hydration. Because POCARI SWEAT is the closest to your BODYWATER, it is therefore essential to survival and body function. The POCARI SWEAT powder has been approved by Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) to become Japanese Space Food.

The journey to the moon is estimated to be 380,000km. In our past 4 editions of POCARI SWEAT RUN, all our runners have covered a total distance of about 300,000km. With a remaining distance of about 80,000km, we’ll need all of your support to complete this mission together!

By being the first beverage on the moon, we envision this as a basic necessity of life for the future generations.
