The landscape of everyday road running is shifting. Today, adidas Singapore officially revealed the Hyperboost Edge, an all-new lightweight super-trainer that is set to begin a new era of road running.
In a market often dominated by rigid carbon-plated racers, the Hyperboost Edge has been designed as the first adidas lightweight non-plated super-trainer. Crafted without any plates or stiffening elements, the shoe relies on a completely new foam that works naturally through the runner’s gait cycle, creating a lightweight and propulsive ride. Remarkably, the shoe weighs in at just 255 grams, yet it still manages to deliver supreme comfort alongside high energy return.
According to the brand, this footwear introduces a new era by successfully combining three breakthrough technologies—a new midsole, a reimagined upper, and a specialised outsole—to balance comfort and responsiveness in every single stride.

The Engine: Hyperboost Pro Midsole
At the very heart of this new running experience is the Hyperboost Pro foam. Drawing heavily on elite racing midsole technologies from adidas, this new foam formulation delivers an experience optimised for every type of run, whether you are lacing up for a daily session or tackling high-mileage training.

Runners will immediately notice the bold 45mm rearfoot stack and the 6mm drop. This aggressive geometry is designed to deliver a uniquely energetic feel across the entire foot, effectively meaning that the foam itself defines both the experience and the visual identity of the Hyperboost Edge.
This isn’t just marketing hype; it is backed by rigorous testing. The Hyperboost Pro foam was designed using proven material insights and extensive laboratory testing by adidas, coupled with consumer research undertaken by the German Sport University Cologne.
In a comprehensive study involving 60 runners, the Hyperboost Edge outperformed the runners’ current footwear across several key performance and comfort metrics. The results speak volumes: 73% of runners preferred its energy return, 77% perceived softer cushioning, and more than half preferred its overall comfort.
Ultimately, a majority agreed that the shoe delivers a better overall running experience, establishing Hyperboost Pro as a new benchmark in running shoe technology.
PRIMEWEAVE and LIGHTTRAXION: Comfort Meets Grip
Complementing the disruptive new foam technology is an upper and outsole combination that aims to turn every run into a natural high, allowing runners to experience “comfort, energised”.
The upper utilises PRIMEWEAVE, a super-soft, hyper-light woven material that delivers effortless comfort and reliable lockdown for a secure fit. To prevent heel slip and enhance step-in comfort without causing distraction, adidas has integrated heel pods that provide targeted cushioning and added stability around the heel. These soft, premium materials work together with the secure heel to support every run.
Underfoot, the newly designed outsole is heavily inspired by adidas’ race shoe DNA. It features lightweight, full-length LIGHTTRAXION material that delivers high traction and grip from heel to toe. Built on a thinner, lighter base, it successfully brings the Adizero performance mindset to everyday running, ensuring every step feels stable and confident while maintaining durable grip across varied conditions.

A Bold New Aesthetic
Beyond raw performance, the Hyperboost Edge introduces a completely new design aesthetic for adidas Running shoes. The bold, inflated midsole silhouette draws its inspiration from industrial forms, placing the visual focus firmly on the Hyperboost Pro technology beneath the foot.
In a striking visual update, the iconic three stripes are positioned directly on the stacked midsole for the first time in adidas running footwear, intentionally highlighting the “performance engine” of the shoe. Meanwhile, the upper remains deliberately clean and progressive, featuring hidden eyelets and light-bonded elements to create a sleek, future-facing look with minimal detailing.
Patrick Nava, GM adidas Running, summarized the release: “We wanted to bring something truly transformative to runners. Hyperboost Edge is where the Power of Three comes to life—cushioning, energy, and lightness combined seamlessly in one shoe”. He added that by harnessing these elements without compromise, they have created a super-trainer that supports runners across all types of mileage.
Perfect for the Long Haul: Project 1000
The emphasis on high-mileage comfort aligns perfectly with long-distance mindsets, such as Project 1000 (P1000), which is also highlighted by the brand. Originally conceived by Natalie Dau as a 1,000-kilometre ultra-endurance challenge to test the limits of human resilience, P1000 has evolved into a mindset of consistency and stacking effort on effort.
In 2026, P1000 returns to Peninsular Malaysia with a sharpened focus on performance, pace, and purpose, utilising running as a platform for collective impact and raising funds for communities in need. For runners looking to stack their own everyday efforts, the Hyperboost Edge seems purpose-built for the journey.
