Danish brand ECCO’s first foray into the outdoor shoe market began in 2000 when the company created its first outdoor boot expressly for an elite border patrol unit that included Danish Crown Prince Frederick.
ECCO is set to launch the BIOM ULTRA Quest series as part of their Autumn/Winter 2013 collection, a lightweight, impressively versatile NATURAL MOTION® shoe engineered for trail runs, adventure competitions, light hiking and many other activities.
The BIOM ULTRA Quest offers great stability and a glove-like fit via a reinforced support cage that works in concert with the anatomical tongue and collar. Additionally, the BIOM ULTRA Quest GTX features 100-percent waterproof GORE-TEX® membrane, ensuring dry feet at all times.
ECCO NATURAL MOTION® products, including the BIOM ULTRA Quest GTX, showcase:
- An anatomical last shape that provides anatomical support across the entire footbed.
- A snug fit through the heel and mid-sole with a roomy toe box for natural toe splay.
- Rounded heel and forefoot promotes a smooth, natural push-off and heel strike.
- Low profile design that enhances surface feel via close-to-the-ground construction.

Featuring a slim, flexible outsole with two dedicated performance zones, the BIOM Ultra Quest series combines larger cleats for more surface contact and propulsion with specialised lugs for enhanced agility and ground penetration.
