Running alone can be boring and “challenging” sometimes, that’s why we need the support of running peers to encourage and train with. The running community in Singapore is vibrant which enables the thriving of active running groups. Previously we have introduced several interesting Singapore running clubs and groups. Today we introduce another list of running groups that you can join for free. Some of them you might have heard of before, others could be new to you. No matter which running groups you decide to join, always find a group that makes you feel comfortable.

CBD Runners

CBD Runners
About: One of the oldest social running group started on 24 Jan 2006, it targets runners within the CBD area.
Meeting Venue: Open air car park behind Maxwell Chambers (Maxwell Chambers is just next to Tanjong Pagar MRT – use Exit B)
Running schedule: Every Tuesday at 7pm sharp.
Suitable for: If you fancy a run at Singapore Central Business District area, this group is ideal for your after work run.

Gei Gei Running Club (GGRC)

Gei Gei Running Club
About: Formed on the 13th Nov 2014 by a group of passionate and fun-loving runners, this young running club has a mission to bring fun and laughter to the local running community.
Meeting Venue: Varies.
Running schedule: They organise fun runs at regular intervals.
Suitable for: Whether you are a humble elite runner or pretending to be one, this running club welcomes all.

BTNR Runners

BTNR Runners
About: Their passion in running had brought them to toll the roads, tracks and trail together while staying injury free, at the same time making new friends.
Meeting Venue: Dairy Farm.
Running schedule: Every Monday to Friday at 1700hrs
Suitable for: Trail and nature running lovers will be pleased to join this group.

Singapore Shufflers

Singapore Shufflers
About: A free community running group which invites runners who are able to complete 5 km comfortably in under 30 minutes to join. It’s one of the most competitive running clubs in Singapore with over 20 achieving podium positions so far in 2015.
Meeting Venue: Evans Road track
Running schedule: Twice a week (one interval session and one threshold session)
Suitable for: 5 km good performers and runners who adore competition.

The Morning Greeters

The Morning Greeters
About: TMG believe that the country and world we live in can be a world of smiles and happiness.
Meeting Venue: Random major parks in Singapore.
Running schedule: Every Sunday in the morning.
Suitable for: Morning runners and anyone who loves greeting strangers, or simply any happy runners. Bonus: If you have a great smile!

Northern Kia Runners

Northern Kia Runners

About: A relatively new running group which was formed in March 2015, with the objective of gathering runners who are staying in the Northern zone of Singapore to join them in promoting healthy lifestyle and racial harmony. They usually run around the northern areas in Woodlands, Sembawang and Yishun.
Meeting Venue:
Running schedule: Evenings on weekdays and morning on weekends.
Suitable for: If you staying in the northern part of Singapore, you are in luck as this running groups will train around your neighborhood which will be more convenience to you. Although they also welcome any runners form other part of Singapore.

Run Nerds Run

Run Nerds Run
About: Started by two friends who call each other ‘nerds’. They believe that running is fun, can be nerve-wrecking, is sometimes insane, but most of all, is enjoyable especially when done in a group.
Meeting Venue: Varies
Running schedule: Every last Sunday of the month. (Tentatively)
Suitable for: Nerds, bookworms and geeks. Well not really, runners of all levels who want to meet new people or need company are encourage to join.

ASICS Running Club (Singapore)

ASCIS Running Club
About: 100% running group run by runners.
Meeting Venue: ASICS Suntec Store (free locker) Tower 2 #02-476.
Running schedule: Every Wednesday (except PH or bad weather) 7pm flag off
Suitable for: Well, you certainly need not to be a ASICS loyalist to join this running club, but it will be a bonus.

NB Runners

NB Runners
About: A running group, wholly owned and managed by New Balance runners, aimed to promote running and healthy lifestyle among friends. Consisting of fast and slow runners, the NB runner will run and walk with you, keeping you fit, strong and at the same time making more friends!
Meeting Venue: New Balance @ Novena (Wed) & New Balance @ Sports Hub (Thur)
Running schedule: Every Wednesday & Thursday, 7pm
Suitable for: No matter whether you are a fast or slow runner, this popular running group will make sure you have fun and joy when you join them for their weekly 5 km to 10 km runs.

East Coast Park parkrun

East Coast Park parkrun

About: Not exactly a running group but entirely organised by volunteers, parkrun started back in 2004 when 13 runners got together on a blustery day in Bushy Park, Teddington, UK. The Singapore parkrun is now part of an international family of over half a million runners (and counting). They organise a timed and measured weekly 5km event for runners of all standards with full results and age grading.
Meeting Venue: Pathway beside East Coast Park (Carpark B1)
Running schedule: Every Saturday at 7:30am.
Suitable for: 5 km and East Coast Park lovers. Extra motivation if you like Starbuck coffee for your post run beverage.

Singapore Running Groups Support

With so many running groups available in Singapore, one is spoiled for choice. While we encourage competition among running groups for better improvement, most importantly we celebrate sportsmanship. Have fun, make friends and keep running.
