In this year’s fifth edition, the Lemkowyna Ultra-Trail event will be taking place on the 12th to 14th of October 2018. The event consists of five mountain races ranging from 30 to 150 kilometres and takes part in the wild and muddy terrain of Beskid Niski (the Low Beskid Mountains).

Lemkowyna Ultra-Trail Registration

Summer registration for those who have yet to register starts on the 25th of July 2018, 7 p.m. Warsaw Time. Runners who are eager to take on the challenge in the wild land of Lemkos should not wait with the registration.

If the number of registered and paid runners at a certain course exceeds the number of available BIBs within four days from the start of registration, then the lottery will take place. If it doesn’t exceed, registration will continue as per normal till all the BIBs are sold out, not later than 6th of September 2018.

So do not hesitate and join the Mudness as soon as possible!

Who will be competing?

For this year’s edition, about 2,000 runners from all over the world will be competing. The entry list has included participants from countries such as Argentina, Bangladesh, Columbia, Mexico, New Zealand, Uzbekistan, US, as well as from majority of European states.

Ultra-Trail World Tour

The high status of the event and its superb quality has been unquestionably confirmed by the fact that Lemkowyna has become part of the Ultra-Trail World Tour schedule as a UTWT Discovery Race. UTWT is a series of mountain races in the most incredible places on Earth.

In the mountain runners’ world, it is equivalent to the World Cup in football. The UTWT schedule includes, among others, UTMB in France, the Lavaredo Ultra-Trail in Italy, Ultra-Trail du Mount Fuji in Japan and Western States 100 in the US. The organisers of Lemkowyna will once again endeavour to ensure that the runners are provided with the highest standards.

What is there in Lemkowyna?

Lemkowyna is famous for its muddy trails of Low Beskid Mountains as it is one of the wildest parts of Polish mountains. With the unpredictable October weather, you’ll get a true adventure in return! Runners who have already finished the race were impressed with the beautiful autumn landscapes, so-called Polish Golden Autumn. All of these were put in the region formerly populated by mountain Lemko nation.

Running in here and encountering orthodox churches, shrines, abandoned villages, one will be able to experience many different shades of Lemko culture.

Partner of Lemkowyna Ultra-Trail

The Main Technical Partner of the race is Columbia Sportswear Company, which for the last four years supported the most prestigious mountain race in the world, such as Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc.

Those who have completed the longest race within the 35-hour limit will be rewarded by Columbia. They will also provide outfits to ensure comfort and well-being of our volunteers who often spend dozens of hours away from civilisation and warmth.

Columbia, together with Fundacja Ultra, the organiser of the race, will also suggest specific products that have already been tested on the trails of Beskid Niski.
