Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2018 Opens for Public Ballot Registration

Popularly known as SCHKM, the 2018 edition registration opened last Tuesday. This popular marathon has seen its numbers steadily growing in recent years and is now taking steps to manage its participation quotas so as to provide excellent hospitality and safety for the comfort of its runners.

Since the 2017 edition, SCHKM has embarked on a public ballot registration system. It had more than a hundred thousand applications for 74,000 running slots. For 2018, more applications are expected to pour in, with the registration ending on 6 Sep 2017.

TLC, a Singapore based fitness training outfit and Hong Kong Tourism Board are in collaboration to provide 2 guaranteed full marathon distance slots at USD60 each to participants of TLC’s Ready Racer Hong Kong training program.

As the “runcation” industry evolves and Hong Kong being an easily accessible location within this Asian region, SCHKM contributes as an additional pillar to attract international tourist arrivals.
