Tired of your usual running route? Want to explore new running routes around the North of Singapore? Fret not!

There are a lot of other parks in the North of Singapore that allow you to enjoy the green scenery and explore the park area while doing your runs. You may have heard about some of the parks listed below or you may also not have heard and known about some of these parks.

Here are the 9 Singapore running parks in the north.

1. Admiralty Park

I’m sure if you heard of Admiralty Park, you will think about the recent new playgrounds that they just recently build, but there is more to that than just the playground. Admiralty Park is located in Woodlands and it is situated on a hilly terrain with Sungei Cina river running through it.

Admiralty Park has a diverse mix of secondary forest, mangrove, riverine and open grassland habitats, and is home to more than 100 species of flora and fauna. Runners can discover the different species living in the forest while running.

2. Sembawang Park

Sembawang Park is a tranquil park away from the bustling city with a beautiful beach side and a stunning view. It is a popular fishing ground and a great place for friends and families to gather. Fitness enthusiasts can run along the Sembawang Park running route while enjoying the gentle sea breeze and sound of the waves.

3. Woodlands Town Garden

With its lush greenery and peaceful ambience, Woodlands Town Garden is an oasis of calm and tranquility. Runners can try running the route there is so much to see, from a picturesque lake which is fed by the river Sungei Mandai Kechil to Malay and Chinese design elements.

4. Yishun Park

Yishun Park is home to various tropical fruits trees and natural vegetation. There is something for everyone at Yishun Park ranging from children playgrounds, fitness corners, an amphitheatre and multi-purpose courts.

Runners who run along the running route of Yishun Park will be able to come across tropical fruit trees such as durian, rambutan, jackfruit, star fruit, coconut, and bread fruit trees.

5. Lower Seletar Reservoir Park

In need of a place that makes you feel calm and make your worries go away? Lower Seletar Reservoir Park to the rescue! The park is calm and peaceful with turquoise waters and balmy breezes. Fitness enthusiasts regularly gather at the park for long leisure strolls, jogs or runs.

There are benches along the edge of the reservoir that provides a great view of the surroundings. Other than running, there are also other sports that can be done at Lower Seletar Reservoir Park, for example like kayaking and dragon-boating.

6. Punggol Park

Punggol Park was developed with the theme “Family Leisure”, offering families with the facilities and activities for them to enjoy. Runners can run along the Punggol Park route and enjoy the scenery of the 5-hectare pond.

The pond is also a good pit stop for sport enthusiast to rest or do some simple stretching on fitness equipment before commencing the run.

7. Sengkang Riverside Park

Sengkang Riverside Park features a constructed wetland and rich biodiversity, a definite place that nature lover love. You can hike on the park’s many trails to view the marshes that were manually planted and get up close to the inhabitants of the marshland.

8. Ang Mo Kio Town Garden East

Ang Mo Kio Town Garden East is home to rubber trees as well as other important trees such as nutmeg and cinnamon. Tranquil and peaceful, Ang Mo Kio Town Garden East is a popular place for nearby residents to conduct recreational activities.

Those who enjoy fitness can do their runs, do foot reflexology or many others among the lush greenery. Runners running along the Ang Mo Kio Town Garden East can enjoy the view of the sculptures of rubber seeds and nutmegs installed around the park.

9. Ang Mo Kio Town Garden West

Built on a hillock with lush and spreading greenery, Ang Mo Kio Town Garden West is perfect for those who are a fitness enthusiast and nature lovers.

Runners who are looking for a challenge can run on the many footpaths meandering through the forest and flowing over the hilly terrain. After a run, runners can also climb up a 120-step staircase to the plaza area to enjoy a bird’s eye view of Ang Mo Kio Town Garden West.
