It’s back—bigger, better and more colourful! Celebrating 10 years of empowering women to live healthy and live great through running, this year’s Great Eastern Women’s Run (GEWR) will take place on Sunday, 1 November 2015.
Living Great in New Ways
Got a special girl in your life aged 3 to 9? For the first time ever, GEWR will launch a Princess Dash category over 100 metres. On top of their bright red running tee, tutu skirt and goodie bag, the little princesses will be crowned with special tiaras upon completing the run.
New firsts have also been added to the Run’s fringe programme in collaboration with the Singapore Sports Hub, of which Great Eastern is a Founding Partner and Official Insurance Partner. GEWR participants can look forward to invigorating workouts through the Sports Hub Stepper, running clinics and piloxing sessions.
Another new highlight is the limited edition Great Eastern Women’s Run adidas memento finisher tee worth S$45.
Run for Not One But Three Good Causes!
Will you ‘Don A Tutu For A Cause’? A first-of-its-kind in the region, tutus in a myriad of pink, blue, yellow and purple hues will be provided to participants for a minimum donation of S$5. Design one of the top ten creatively-embellished tutus will win a limited edition Great Eastern SG50 commemorative ez-link card with S$200 stored value.
Targeting to raise S$100,000, Great Eastern will leverage the Run to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation, Community Chest (for children with special needs) and SingHealth Duke-NUS OBGYN Academic Clinical Program, a programme to fund research to improve clinical and health care for women and their babies.
Besides donning tutus for a good cause, you could also donate to their fundraising portal. Companies too can play a part by donating S$1,000 for a team of four in the Corporate Charity category.
As a LIFE company, Great Eastern champions healthy living. We are one of the early pioneers of public runs in Singapore and we are delighted that the Great Eastern Women’s Run has developed into an iconic event in the Singapore sport calendar.
As Singapore celebrates her Golden Jubilee and we, our special milestone, there is no better time for us to reinforce our commitment to empower and encourage women of all ages and capabilities to live great and live healthy.
—Dr Khoo Kah Siang, CEO (Singapore) for Great Eastern Life
