CR7 Drive, developed in partnership with football star Cristiano Ronaldo, is a sports drink that rapidly fuels workouts and enhances hydration. CR7 Drive is part of Herbalife24 sports nutrition range, a comprehensive performance nutrition line empowering athletes 24-hours a day.

In an interview with Herbalife, Cristiano Ronaldo says that he considers his body a weapon and that it gives him an advantage over other players. He believes that recovery after training and games is critical to his performance, which is why he is partnered with Herbalife. Ronaldo says that if he doesn’t train and fuel his body properly, he won’t be the best.

Lin Wee, general manager of Herbalife Singapore said,

“We are very excited to be bringing CR7 Drive to consumers in Singapore. Cristiano Ronaldo is an outstanding footballer who places great value on the benefits of good nutrition. With his stamp of approval on the product following the rigorous research and development process, we believe that the final product will deliver immense value to a wide spectrum of consumers, including fitness enthusiasts, casual and professional athletes alike.”

Herbalife Singapore General Manager Lin Wee shares insights into sports nutrition trends in Singapore at Herbalife’s CR7 Drive launch event.

The importance of refuelling during a workout

7 in 10 people in Asia Pacific consume sports drinks for the purpose of hydration, according to a Sports Nutrition Survey conducted by Herbalife in March 2016. Furthermore, 47% of these people consume sports drinks after a workout, while 28% do so during a workout, and 9% consume sports drinks before a workout.

During the launch of CR7 Drive in Singapore recently, Singapore Olympic rower, Saiyidah Aisyah, emphasised the importance of a good sports nutrition drink to her rigorous training programme,

“Many fitness enthusiasts underestimate the importance of refuelling for hydration and energy during their workout. From my experience in training and competing, I have found that maintaining optimal hydration and energy levels is absolutely key to delivering my best rowing performance on a sustained basis. With an all-in-one sports nutrition product such as CR7 Drive delivering the essential hydration, energy and metabolism support for intense physical activity, this will enable fitness enthusiasts and athletes to unlock the key to maintaining consistently high sporting performances.”

What is CR7 Drive?

CR7 Drive is developed to optimise your fitness performance by delivering 3 key components to the body during a workout. A vital electrolytes combination of 117.6 mg sodium and 65.1 mg magnesium replenishes electrolytes lost during exercise and improves hydration.

To consume CR7 Drive, mix 1 scoop (13.5g) into 250ml of water. You may create a more dilute or more concentrated mix depending on the weather and your preference.

CR7 Drive doesn’t contain any artificial flavours or sweeteners, its natural flavours and colours come from purple carrot and grape juices. With a total of 51 calories per serving, it would be a better choice than a soda, which typically has around over 60 calories per 250ml.

Despite being endorsed by professional athletes such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Saiyidah Aisyah, CR7 Drive is not designed only for the elites. If you are engaging in any moderate-intensity exercise for at least 30 minutes, your body will benefit from the nutrients in CR7 Drive.

Herbalife CR7 Drive is available through independent Herbalife members or via its website. Recommended retail price: S$67.89 per unit (60 servings).
