IRONMAN Asia, the organiser for the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2017 has confirmed that no train service will be available during the early morning of 3 December 2017.

Perhaps discussion with SMRT to allow early train services for the participants of Singapore’s largest running event has been unsuccessful. It’s unsure why SMRT is unable to provide the early train services this year.

Since 2011, SMRT has been starting train services earlier on the day of the marathon, to help runners make it to the starting point on time which is as early as 4.30 a.m. However, this tradition has ceased since last year’s race due to rail engineering works on the race day.

Fortunately, race participants can purchase a bus ticket for the private chartered buses that will be provided from 39 pick-up locations travelling point-to-point to the start line.

However, the price of a one-way bus ticket is S$1 more expensive compared to last year. Online purchase is available till the 15 November 2017, 2359 hrs for S$6 per ticket and limited to 1 ticket per runner.

Participants are strongly encouraged to purchase their bus tickets when they register online. Bus services will not be made available for 10km runners as public transport will be available by then.

Other Modes of Transport
