POCARI SWEAT hosted a first-of-its-kind Lunar Dive Clinic at Queenstown Swimming Complex last week. The lunar-themed event is part of the Lunar Dream Capsule Project, where POCARI SWEAT aims to become the first beverage in history to land on the moon.
The Sky’s Not the Limit
Recognising the importance of hydration, POCARI SWEAT is developed to be the closest composition to one’s BODYWATER, that is, fluid inside the human body. Produced by Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd, the isotonic drink is suitable for proper hydration, even when one undergoes extreme conditions such as in space.
In cooperation with several parties, including design and space technology experts Astroscale, the healthcare company will launch the Lunar Dream Capsule Project with state-of-the-art technology.
The Lunar Dream capsule, specially designed and developed for delivery to the moon, contains POCARI SWEAT powder. It is hoped that the beverage can be made with water found on the moon’s surface one day.
Lunar Dive Clinic
Held on 3 May, the Lunar Dive Clinic included a number of space-themed fringe activities at Queenstown Swimming Complex. The excitement in the air – or underwater – was evident as participants delighted in the unique experiences offered.
Donning wetsuits and carrying oxygen tanks, participants had a taste of astronaut training in a micro-gravity environment. With the help of professional dive instructors, they performed underwater activities like weights-relay and walking through hula-hoops in the deep end of the pool.
There were also insightful sharing sessions by Singapore marathoner and POCARI SWEAT Ambassador, Neo Jie Shi; POCARI SWEAT Spokesperson, Puspita Winawati; and ASICS Running Club’s Representative, Andy Neo.
I am thrilled to have POCARI SWEAT support me throughout my journey. As an athlete, I know how important hydration is to the human body, yet it is something that is often overlooked. I hope all runners out there will place priority to ensure that they are adequately hydrated during their runs, trainings and work-outs

This year, POCARI SWEAT hopes to make history by completing the remaining distance of 80,000 km. Over the last four years, participants have covered a total of 300,000 km.
