COAST TO COAST NIGHT TRAIL ULTRA is an iconic running activity held in the southern part of Yogyakarta.
The Coast to Coast Night Trail Ultra (CTC) is held every February since 2015. The starting line starts from Depok Beach, Yogyakarta then follows Parangkusumo Beach, Parangtritis Beach, crosses the beautiful hills, Parangkusumo Gumuk Pasir and finishes at the same point as the start line in Depok Beach with typical beach treats, namely Grilled Fish and Ice Dawet.
The Yogyakarta Trail Runners (TRY) designed Coast to Coast first in February 2015 with the aim of bringing together runners from various regions to meet in an event titled Gatherings Race. Gathering Race is a race that is managed by gathering or gathering. Bring up a competitive aura that is family-friendly. 300 runners divided into 42K and 21K categories attended the 2015 CTC.
In February 2016, CTC was developed into 13K, 25K and 50K categories. The total runners who participated in the second year’s Gathering Race reached 531 runners.
In February 2017 CTC was held again, to meet the demands of the CTC runners presenting 3 categories, namely 25K, 50K and 70K. By maintaining the 25K, 50K and additional 70K categories, runners will pass the tourist icons in the southern part of Yogyakarta such as Cave Langse, Gua Cerme, Grilled Tourism Forest Area, Gatot Subroto Climbing or better known by participants namely km34 climb and the difficult forgotten by CTC participants, Gumuk Pasir Parangkusumo, here the participants were faced with the challenge of running in a sandbank that was quite hot and drained of energy, as far as 4 kilometres to the finish line.
As a gathering, after going through many climbs and descent, also after you have successfully passed Parangkusumo Gumuk Pasir which is the only mini dessert in Southeast Asia, you will enjoy grilled fish along with other runners after crossing the finish line.
Run on the Coast to Coast Night Trail Ultra 2019 program, not only testing physical and mental challenges but also giving a family-friendly impression that is hard to forget. For this reason, in 2019 we added another category, 13K.
