In celebration of sport and fitness for all levels, TRI-Factor Run offered various race categories, including 21km, 10.5km, 1km competitive as well as 1km introductory race for those aged 6 years old and above to try running.

TRI-Factor RunSwim

In line with TRI-Factor Series’ concept to enable anyone to engage in multi-sport races, the TRI-Factor RunSwim challenges participants with 5 race categories, where participants run, then swim, then run again.

The 5 categories are:

  • TRI-Factor Run/Swim/Run: Freshmen (2.5km / 200m / 2.5km)
  • TRI-Factor Run/Swim/Run: Sprint (5.25km / 500m / 5.25km)
  • TRI-Factor Run/Swim/Run: Standard (5.25km / 1000m / 10.5km)
  • Team Relay TRI-Factor Run/Swim/Run: Sprint (5.25km / 500m / 5.25km)
  • Team Relay TRI-Factor Run/Swim/Run: Standard (5.25km / 1000m / 10.5km)

Last year, the TRI-Factor RunSwim attracted 350 total participants. This year, however, the number of participants has skyrocketed to 550 people. 100 participated in the Freshmen category, 200 in Sprint, and record-breaking 250 in the newest and most challenging category, the Standard RunSwim. The Standard category was a sold-out category.

Para-Athletes Participation

Joseph Tan, General Manager and Race Director of the TRI-Factor Series, said,

“This year we have the privilege of working with the Para Cycling Federation of Singapore to promote multi-sport among their athletes. They have two individual athletes and three teams taking part.”

Delia Kang and Abdul Halim participated in the individual RunSwim. Halim has recently competed in cycling at the pre-ASEAN Para Games in Kuala Lumpur and is looking forward to completing all four legs of the TRI-Factor Series this year.

Meanwhile, three visually challenged athletes — Steve Tee, Emily Lee, and Jessen Ng — each teamed up with a swimmer to participate in the RunSwim.

Mr Joseph Tan added,

“We are glad to have such a great turnout in our inaugural RunSwim standard distance challenge as we noticed a trend that athletes are progressing further from just traditional running and into multi-sport.”
