The first Sunday of December heralded the biggest running event of the year – the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore 2014! This was my sixth consecutive year participating in Standard Chartered Marathon ever since it marked my first full marathon in 2009. As usual, I had trouble falling asleep the prior night due to the pre-race jitters and yet, immense anticipation to lace up my running shoes.
The annual all-female race and 9th edition of SHAPE Run 2014 took place without a hitch at Nicoll Highway last Sunday morning!
Thousands of runners gathered at the scenic Punggol Waterway Park for the third leg of the TRI-Factor Series on 3 August with one aim in mind: to “TRI” their best and run their hardest.
The highly anticipated 4th edition of the Energizer Singapore Night Trail returned with a bang at the dusky trails of Lorong Asrama last Saturday night!
Many races took place last weekend, and what set Marina Run apart from the rest? It was the first half-marathon and night run of 2014! There is something special about running at night, especially when it is complemented with the scenic Marina Bay riverfront and quaint waterfront communities.
Overcast skies did not stop 14,000 female runners from gathering at the Marina Bay Floating Platform with only one aim in mind – to Live Great. With 5km, 10km and 21km routes, there were categories that appealed to ladies from all age groups. The generous cut-off timings also helped to calm the nerves for first-time runners.
Skechers Go Bionic Ride Shoes gets its name from its nature-inspired GO-bionic engineering and enhanced Resalyte™ cushioning for elevated comfort and support on every run. 2000 runners gathered at the starting lines in high spirits, all ready to start their weekend with a bang by running against the CBD backdrop and clear blue skies (thankfully). That’s not all; they were there for two good causes: to raise awareness of good heart health and to raise charity funds. For every 1km covered during the race, Nestle Omega Plus Acticol would donate $1 to Singapore Hearts Foundation.
SingTel & Singapore Cancer Society Race Against Cancer 2013: Many Ran In Rememberance Of A Cancer Patient
A record turnout of over 9,000 participants gathered at East Coast Park on Sunday for the fifth annual SingTel & Singapore Cancer Society Race Against Cancer. The race was organised by Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) and participants were running for a good cause. They were running for those who are unable to run, those who have lost their battle with cancer, rallying for those who are still courageously fighting against cancer and rejoicing for those who have overcome cancer. Keep fighting on and never give up!
