The craving for a steaming slice of pizza might be too much for some runners to deny. You should not have to sacrifice such cravings. Succumb with a healthier alternative to traditional greasy takeaway options!

This is the ideal recipe to combine the sustenance you require for peak performance and the subtle sinful flavors to satisfy your desires. Additionally, a 2012 study published in the journal Nutrition stated that the high levels of vitamin C provided by carrots and bell peppers could assist in lowering heart rate during strenuous activities.

Ingredients

  • ½ whole-grain naan
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 medium carrot, shredded
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • ¾ cup chicken, shredded
  • 28 grams fresh mozzarella, diced
  • ¼ yellow bell pepper, diced
  • 1 tablespoon black olives, sliced
  • ¾ cup lettuce or arugula
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, torn
  • 2 tablespoons tomato dressing

Directions

In a baking tray, spread the oil over the naan to cover entire surface and bake until crisp and golden. While the naan is heating up, put the rest of the ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Cut the naan into bite-size pieces and add to salad along with the dressing.
