Off the Track: An Interview with Kilian Jornet

The guy’s been almost synonymous with the term "trail running" as of late. Yes, it’s none other than Kilian Jornet. In a rare appearance, the Salomon ambassador was in town recently to grace the official opening of Singapore’s first Salomon Branded Store. RunSociety caught up with him after the event to find out more about his life as an athlete – past, present and future.

Kilian Kornet Interview

Killian Jornet's passion for trails was evident throughout

We suppose it really helped that he was such an affable gentleman without any form of snobbish "airs" star athletes usually emit. At 24, he’s already lined up for himself numerous titles from across the globe. Put it simply, they are too many to list. Just this year alone, he claimed five in his Five Races Five Continents project which came to a close over the weekend at the Mt Kinabalu International Climbathon.

This is a video interview conducted by RunSociety's Editor-in-Chief, Shaun Lin:

In these stressful and uncertain times, getting updated with accurate and useful information has never been so critical. Years back, seeds were sown when Shaun undertook a marketing communications role at a Singapore-based sports distributorship. There, a couple of international sporting brands fell under his purview. He's made the decision to migrate to the receiving end since, placing himself right at the heart of true competition.
