After two consecutive years of enormous success in 2015 and 2016 with over 3,000 and 4,000 participants respectively, Mizuno Ekiden returns for its third edition on 19 August 2017, at The Promontory @ Marina Bay.

In Japanese, Ekiden refers to a relay-styled long distance running. Mizuno Ekiden focuses on Japanese values, such as perseverance, teamwork and high performance.

Mr Kiyoshi Tatani, President of Mizuno Singapore, said,

We are really excited to bring back the Mizuno Ekiden this year after a resounding success the past two editions. Moving into the third instalment of the race, we would like to use this platform to introduce a new category for running clubs. With this new addition, we hope to further strengthen our position in the sports scene in Singapore, and beyond our borders. We aim to broaden the awareness of the event as well as tapping on to the vibrancy and potential of the running community in the region. We look forward to having scores of running teams join us for a friendly competition.
