Don’t look for a winged cherub with a bow and quiver filled with heart-topped arrows when you hit the start line of the Score Cupid Dash 2015. This 3.5km fun run is only open to human runners over 16, which means Greek gods need not register. On the other hand, if you have a passion for running and can’t think of a more romantic way to spend Valentine’s Day, show up at the Kepong Metropolitan Park in Kuala Lumpur on 14 February 2015 at 7am and prepare to get your heart rate up in the healthiest of all ways!

Sponsored by Mantra Experiential, a brand communications consortium promoting physical fitness via its Sports Competition Outdoor Recreation Experience (SCORE), the Cupid Dash anticipates thousands of competitors eager to prove their passion for running at the event. But the Dash is more than just a good run: Indulge your romantic side by making a photo booth pit stop, throw a coin into the wishing pond along the route, see if you can grab one of Cupid’s roses and enter the event’s photo contest to win prizes, all the while getting a great cardiovascular workout.

6,000 runners are expected at this event and they are encouraged to bring loved ones along to make the day a family or group affair. Whether you are a seasoned runner or a beginner, you will enjoy this race with its engaging activities and a lovely view of the large lake at Kepong Metropolitan Park. The tree-shaded route will make the run more cooling and enjoyable.

A highlight of the day for singles will be a traditional mandarin orange throw: Runners letter their names and contact information on a mandarin orange skin and toss it into a man-made pond in search of a soul mate. It’s like the Chinese version of Valentine’s Day. Download and match a QR Code indicating hobbies, age and personal preferences. Runners who have already found their true love can still enter the event’s Instagram contest (#SCORECPIDASH) by posting a photo with their partner.

The organiser has made the Score Cupid Dash an affordable affair: Entry fee runs only RM75 per individual and everyone participating receives an entry pack, commemorative race t-shirt, love bib and a medal. It doesn’t matter where one finishes, everyone gets a medal, so everyone will feel like a hero on this Valentine day.
