Participants who managed to outrun Goh by sprinting past a unique speedometer which captured their speed and make it onto the leaderboard stood to win prizes including complimentary race slots and adidas shoes.

All participants who attempted the Speed Challenge also had the chance to win a one-night stay at The Ritz Carlton Millenia Singapore.

What’s new for Great Eastern Women’s Run 2017?

This year’s edition of Great Eastern Women’s Run 2017, to be held on Sunday 12 November 2017, will feature several ‘firsts’.

There will be a new category, ‘2km Mummy + Me Run’ catered for mothers and daughters aged 7-12 years while those aged 3-6 can look forward to the 100m Princess Dash. Other categories are the half-marathon, 10km and 5km Live Great! Fun Run.

New elements will be added to the 5km Live Great! Fun Run. Participants can look forward to a unique run experience with many Instagrammable moments, including photo walls and a colourful ball pit which they will have a fun time ‘wading’ through.

This year’s Run also goes digital with the launch of a mobile app specially developed to encourage and incentivise participants to clock more mileage as they train.

To be launched in August 2017, the new app will provide race related information as well as monthly challenges to encourage participants to go the distance for charity for which they will receive attractive rewards.
