As the old adage goes, “You can’t really really understand another person’s experience until you’ve walk a mile in their shoes.” Well, for this worthy cause, we ask you to kick off your shoes! Instead, walk barefoot to raise funds and awareness for those in need.

Returning for its 7th year on Saturday, 30 May 2015, the annual Bare Your Sole walkathon by Habitat for Humanity Singapore will gather thousands of participants at Palawan Brach, Sentosa. People from all (bare)walks of life can participate in the 2km and 4km barefoot charity walkathon, happening from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity Singapore’s Project HomeWorks Programme, a local initiative striving to improve living conditions of the elderly, sick and physically challenged living in one-room flats in Singapore.

“Bare Your Sole continues to be an avenue for Singaporeans to come together to lend support to our fellow Singaporeans who need help,”

said Mr. Yong Teck Meng, National Director of Habitat for Humanity Singapore.

“Since the inception of Project HomeWorks in 2006, Habitat for Humanity Singapore has been able to engage close to 7,000 volunteers to assist disadvantaged Singaporeans in refurbishing over 1,000 of their homes. This would not have been possible without the continuous support of every participant, volunteer and corporate sponsor at Bare Your Sole.”

There will also be a wide range of fun activities such as a high elements course with flying fox and a rock-climbing wall, a Habitat Village and a Kids’ Corner. Exciting martial arts demonstrations and entertaining musical performances will also be featured, making the Bare Your Sole 2015 a fun-filled family event for all ages. Last but not least, look forward to a yummy array of food and beverage stalls, which are sure to whet your taste buds.
