Gold Coast Airport Marathon 2013: Race Along Beautiful Beaches
If you have not participated in an overseas race before, this is the race to consider. With budget flights readily available, you can travel to the Gold Coast in less than S$300.
Famed for its long stretches of uninterrupted coastline, the Gold Coast is a playground of all things fun in the sun - beach swimming, a surfing paradise, thrilling theme parks, mesmerising national parks, sophisticated shopping and dining, pumped up nightlife – the list goes on.
The 35th annual Gold Coast Airport Marathon will be staged over the weekend on the 6th and 7th July 2013 in one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world in Queensland, Australia.
Regarded as one of Australia’s premier sporting events, the Gold Coast Airport Marathon is set to attract more than 28,000 participants of all ages and abilities from Queensland, interstate and overseas.
The event program will feature the full 42.195km Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km Run, 5.7km Challenge and Junior Dash 4km and 2km races which are renowned worldwide for being flat, fast and scenic, running alongside the beautiful Broadwater and sparkling beaches.
All competitors will enjoy the great running conditions on the Gold Coast as the climate is traditionally good for running, with low humidity, minimal wind and mild temperatures.
Huge crowds of supporters will provide ‘Runspiration’ and all finishers will be rewarded with a commemorative medal and certificate, as well as a shirt or cap.
Direct flights to Gold Coast Airport from regional Queensland, interstate and around the world are available.
The Gold Coast Airport Marathon, organised by Gold Coast Events, is a multiple Queensland Tourism Awards Best Major Event/Festival recipient and 2011 Hall of Fame inductee.
