Following the success of its sister resort’s Laguna Phuket Marathon in Thailand, the Laguna Lăng Cô Marathon is soon launching at the largest integrated world-class resort in Vietnam. The inaugural event will be set in a place known for its pristine coastlines, lush green jungles and rugged mountain peaks—beautiful Lăng Cô in Central Vietnam.

“The Laguna Lăng Cô Marathon will be a prime opportunity for local, regional and international runners to enjoy the best of Central Vietnam – a marathon combined with culture, scenery, amazing food and the genuine warmth of the Central Vietnamese people. We truly have everything to accommodate large scale international events and create an exciting playground for sports and adventure aficionados,”

said Mr. Michal Zitek, Area General Manager for Banyan Tree Lăng Cô and Angsana Lăng Cô.

The marathon weekend event is expecting 1,000 runners and sports enthusiasts – be they pros, amateurs, families and children, or spectators – from Vietnam’s fast-growing running scene and from around the world. Poised to be a memorable experience for all, the 10km Run, 5km Community Run and a 2km Kid’s Run will kick off on Saturday, 24 October 2015. This will be followed by a Marathon and a Half Marathon on Sunday morning, 25 October 2015.

The route is an out and back course across varied terrain, with a loop between 22 and 28 km. Following the course out of Laguna Lăng Cô, marathoners and half marathoners will head east through local villages and run past water buffaloes in rice fields. Cast your eyes on misty mountain peaks, take in the unsullied beaches and appreciate the scenic landscape that Central Vietnam has to offer.
