Billed as The World’s Most Delicious Race, the highly-anticipated Meiji Run will return on Saturday, 20 May 2017 for its second edition after a successful debut in 2015.

Meiji Run 2017 will be a full-day extravaganza based in Sentosa (Palawan Green) with fun and delicious activities running from dawn to dusk.

Unlike the previous edition that only consisted of a 5km Fun Run option, organisers now give participants the chance to choose between a Meiji Yoga session, a 5km Fun Run, or a 10km Competitive Cashback Run.

Meiji Yoga

A new addition to the event, Meiji Yoga is a mass yoga session that not only brings forth a rejuvenating workout, but also offers participants tastings of delicious Meiji products.

Participants will be nourished with a serving of Meiji Amino Collagen before the session and be treated to a hearty Meiji Breakfast at the end, which includes a refreshing Meiji Bulgaria Yogurt served with fruits, and the newly-launched Meiji Bulgaria Yogurt Drink.

Participants can also pamper themselves with a short spa massage or manicure at the sponsors’ booths.

Meiji Yoga will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Participants who sign up before 14 April 2017 will get to enjoy an early bird rate of SG$35/pax.

Meiji Run

Meiji Run will consist of two categories – the 5km Fun Run and the 10km Competitive Cashback Run.

Newly introduced, the 10km Competitive Cashback Run has an innovative race format whereby runners who complete their race in less than 50 minutes will receive cashback of up to SG$100 worth of cash vouchers, redeemable at the Meiji Fair on event day.

  • Runners who complete the 10km run under 50 minutes will receive a $10 cash voucher, valid with a minimum purchase of $20.
  • Runners who complete the 10km run under 40 minutes will receive a $50 cash voucher.
  • Runners who complete the 10km run under 30 minutes will receive a $100 cash voucher.

On a side note, the Singapore national record (as of November 2016) for the 10km distance is set by Soh Rui Yong with a timing of 31:15.95. It will therefore be very interesting to witness any runner completing the Meiji Run under 30 minutes and receiving a $100 cash voucher!

Meiji Run will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Participants who sign up before 14 April 2017 will get to enjoy an early bird rate of SG$45/pax for the 5km Fun Run and SG$55/pax for the 10km Competitive Cashback Run.

Gone is the Meiji Buffet We Still Crave For

If you were part of the Meiji Run in 2015, you will never forget the scrumptious Meiji Buffet! What could be more rewarding than to be able to feast on unlimited chocolate, fondue, milk, yoghurt and more after a race? Well, while this experience will not return next edition, the World’s Most Delicious Race will still be offering toothsome snacks and drinks. Finishers from both the 5km Fun Run and 10km Competitive Cash-back run will receive a Meiji Snack Hamper worth SG$20.

Meiji Fair

The Meiji Fair, which offers Meiji products at great discounts, will also be open to the public just outside the Meiji Run start/end point. All customers who spend above SG$50 in a single receipt will be able to spin the prize wheel and win additional Meiji products or receive a limited edition Meiji Run plush toy (while stocks last). Participants who shop at the Meiji Fair will also get a chance to join in the lucky draw that gives away 2 air tickets to Japan!

A Full Day of Fun-Filled Activities

Don’t forget to head down to the photo booth to take GIF photos with your loved ones, savour authentic Japanese food and beverages at the mini Japanese food fair, and wind down at the Outdoor Movie Screening. Doesn’t this sounds like a good chillax plan?

Participant’s Entitlements

Participants of the Meiji Run will receive a race t-shirt, tote bag, towel and a finisher hamper worth SG$20. 10km runners will receive an additional bottle and all runners have an option to purchase a Hello Panda or Fresh Milk Cow plush toy for SG$5.

Participants of the Meiji Yoga will receive a yoga singlet, drawstring bag and a yoga mat.

Hurry sign up now for a race that your tummy will thank you for!
