The MPI Generali Run is back for the sixth year running and will return to Padang Merbok on 8 January 2017, offering runners two distances – 10km and 5km.

The Race

Contrary to previous editions where there were more distances for participants to choose from, the race events in the 2017 MPI Generali Run will be simplified to just two main distances comprising of the 10km Competitive Run and the 5km Fun Run.

The Competitive Run will cater to individual runners, while the Fun Run will cover a wider range of participants who are given the option of running individually or in groups of two, three or four. The top 10 finishers of each category will also be awarded product vouchers.

In promotion of healthy lifestyle for all, the upcoming edition will introduce refreshing concepts and attractions to entice families and friends to get healthier together. This includes the introduction of the Cosplay element for the 5km Fun Run where participants are encouraged to dress to the theme of “Prince or Princess”. Three best dressed participants will also stand to win attractive prizes.

Novelties aside, the event stays rooted to its primal objective of promoting Healthy Lifestyle – Work-Life Balance. Good Deeds, the corporate social responsibility initiative that has complemented MPI Generali Run since 2014 will also continue. This recycling project collects pre-loved sports shoes and shirts to be donated to the Orang Asli (indigenous peoples of Malaysia).

The race venue remains unchanged at Padang Merbok, the community’s most popular and all-time favourite running venue.

New Logo

MPI Generali Run has launched its new logo with the intention to better demonstrate its communal focus and to exhibit its pride in the local popular landmarks of Kuala Lumpur.

The new logo portrays runner silhouettes of different ages and genders, with the backdrop featuring the iconic KL Tower and Petronas Twin Towers. It reflects MPI Generali Run as an event suitable for participants from all walks of life while bringing with it a unique local cultural experience.
