“It’s more than a race. It’s about giving back, about inspiration, believing you can, challenging yourself, your journey, supporting Activ and so much more.”

Following a four decade long history, this year’s Perth City to Surf for Activ event is expected to attract over 45,000 participants from around Australia and the world. Western Australia’s (WA) largest community sporting event stretches over six weeks across five iconic destinations and is created to fundraise for Activ, a community organisation supporting people living with disabilities.

Categories for the Perth leg on Sunday, 30 August 2015 include Marathon, Half Marathon, 12km Run, 12km Walk, 4km Run and Walk and a 4km Wheelchair—so there’s something for any level of fitness! Do note that the first four segments of the series only cover the 12km and 4km distances.

Officially accredited by Athletics Australia and the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), the Marathon and Half Marathon courses are known to be one of the most picturesque in the world. You’ll wind along the beautiful Swan River and pass through the magnificent Kings Park Botanic Gardens.  What’s more, the WA Series’ finale boasts a unique festival atmosphere at both the start in Perth City and even more so at the finish at City Beach, overlooking the sparkling the Indian Ocean.
