RunNUS is back with its 9th edition on Sunday, 23 August 2015. To celebrate SG50 and NUS110, exciting new race categories are launched to challenge the NUS population and community at large to fitness goals and healthy lifestyles.

It’s for a good cause too. Net proceeds from runners’ fees and individual pledges go towards the Annual Giving campaign, an annual appeal to raise funds for bursaries, scholarships and Faculty student funds. Since 2010, RunNUS has raised over $200,000 and provided over 140 university-wide bursaries, supporting several students in financial need.

Organised by NUS Students’ Sports Club (NUSSSC), the races will flag off from NUS Kent Ridge Campus starting with the inaugural 15 km Competitive Race at 6:15 a.m. Following suit in full gusto are the SG50 Team Challenge, 10 km Competitive Race and 5 km Fun Run categories.

In the newly introduced SG50 Team Challenge, teams of 5-7 participants must clock the combined best net timing for their fastest 5 runners in the 10 km race route. A limited edition plague will be awarded to the top three teams in both the NUS and Public categories. All SG50 Team Challenge participants will also receive special certificates of commemoration and race medals.

Confront the reputably ‘hilly’ terrains on the 10 km and 15 km routes as you explore the NUS campus and its various faculties. If that’s not your cup of tea, unwind with a leisurely 5 km Fun Run and spent some healthy quality time with loved ones and friends. Who will come out tops as the most motivated, fittest, and cooperative team? Join forces and take up this rousing challenge together or come and cheer on your favourite team!

Grand prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each competitive category. But everyone’s a winner for completing the run, so celebrate with a super-duper carnival greeting you at the finish line! Snap selfies and wefies at the live photo booths, relish sensational live performances and check out the various stalls and game booths. There will also be a lucky draw with exciting prizes to be won, so stay tuned!
