The Spartan Semenyih Sprint 2018 is back this year, on Sunday, 15 April 2018 at Semenyih, Selangor. The race challenges participants with more than 20 signature spartan obstacles over the 5km distance.

Spartan Sprint is the shortest distance in Spartan Race, and it’s perfect for Spartan first-timers or seasoned racers. If you haven’t raced in any Spartan race before, Lim has invaluable advice about what you should take note of when joining Spartan Race.

Categories and Flag Offs

Elite Male and Elite Female participants are the athletes who compete to win prize money, challenge themselves against the best of the best, and to rise to the top of the Spartan Race Point Series. These elite racers will be flagged off first on race day, at 7:30 a.m. (Elite Male) and 7:45 a.m. (Elite Female).

Formerly known as Competitive categories, the Age Group category is a series of heats placed immediately after the Elite category. Age Group racers will follow the same rules and standards as the Elite racers. They are the participants who believe they could win or place in a given race when stacked against only the best of the best within their designated age group. Age groups will be flagged off from 8 and 8:15 a.m.

Next, there is an Open category suitable for everyone who doesn’t want to be pressured for time.  It’s perfect for weekend warriors and novice athletes. The Open category will be flagged off at 8:30 a.m.

Lastly, there’s a new Student category for students aged between 14 and 23 years old. The Student Open Heat will be flagged off from 1:15 to 2 p.m.
