The Blackmores Sydney Running Festival 2014 Gives You a Chance to Soak in Australia’s Most Scenic Sights!

Enjoy a run over the beautiful Sydney Harbour Bridge in the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival on Sunday, 21 September 2014.

There are 4 stunning events to choose from – simply select the challenge that’s right for you. Each event gives you the unique opportunity to ‘Run the Bridge’ traffic-free and take in Sydney’s most spectacular sights!

The events include:

  • The Sunday Telegraph Family Fun Run/Walk (approx. 3.5km)
  • Blackmores Bridge Run (approx. 9km)
  • Blackmores Half Marathon (21km)
  • Blackmores Sydney Marathon (42.2km)

Sign Up for a Cause, and Run for Free!

All 4 events start in Bradfield Park, Milson’s Point travel over the main deck of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and finish at the Sydney Opera House (Marathon, Half Marathon) whilst the Bridge Run and Family Fun Run finish at the Conservatorium of Music, the entrance of the Royal Botanic Gardens.

Participants can make each step count by getting sponsored for their efforts and helping to raise funds for over 37 official charities including the Shake It Up Foundation and Cerebral Palsy Alliance. Or they can select their own personal cause. Entry is free if participants sign up for the ‘Run for a Cause, Run for Free’ initiative and reach their set fundraising target!

World-Class IAAF Silver Label

This year, the Blackmores Sydney Marathon was awarded a prestigious Silver label from the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), officially recognising the event as a world leader in marathons. Plus, with a new 6 hour Marathon cut off time, runners of all abilities can now look to tackle this legendary distance at their own pace.

The 2014 Blackmores Sydney Marathon will also be broadcasted live on both Channel 10 and EuroSport Asia. The Blackmores Sydney Running Festival is proudly supported by The NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.

After the race, all participants are invited to celebrate their achievements in the Blackmores Recovery Village located in the Royal Botanic Garden while enjoying the spectacular views of Sydney Harbour! You will find sponsor giveaways, event merchandise, food and drink, live entertainment, massage tent, corporate marquees, amenities and more!

Just like the Gold Coast Airport Marathon, the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival is open to international runners.

Lots of runners from Singapore are also joining in on the fun. This year, CTC Travel is offering a 5 day 4 night travel package with Mok Ying Rong, winner of the Sundown Singapore 2014 Women’s Half Marathon, and sister of SEA Games Gold Medallist Mok Ying Ren! Join her for a run clinic to acclimatise yourself before race day, and enjoy sightseeing famous destinations such as Port Stephens and lunch at the Sydney Fish Market.
