One year since The Color Run™ presented by CIMB Bank delighted Singapore with a celebration of health, happiness and colour, it is returning bigger and better. Having circled the globe and embraced more than 170 communities from US, France, Japan, South Africa, Australia, and recently in ASEAN, The Color Run is returning to the shores of Singapore over the weekend of 30 and 31 August 2014.

Playing Host to the Happiest 5k on the Planet

CIMB Bank, the leading ASEAN universal bank, once again plays host to the event – as the Presenting Sponsor of what is popularly known as the “Happiest 5k on the Planet”. Catering to the massive interest from Singaporeans in 2013, an increase in participation numbers from 16,000 to 18,000 this year will make Singapore the largest Color Run in Southeast Asia.

Here are the details for the Colour Run Singapore 2014:

Venue: Sentosa Beach Car Park, Sentosa Island

Date: 30 and 31 August 2014

Time: 12pm – Village Opens; 4pm – Run Starts; 10pm – Event Ends

Registration Fees: S$55 per person (price includes entry onto Sentosa, a runner’s t-shirt, headband and other goodies)

Registration Opens: Friday, 4 July at 3pm (Registration ends when all entries are filled)

Bringing the Color Run to Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia

CIMB Bank has also been instrumental in the growth of The Color Run from its Singapore debut last year, to bring the global colour phenomenon to Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur. The Color Run in Jakarta attracted 11,000 participants in January this year, while the sold out event will make its debut in Kuala Lumpur on 17 August 2014.

“With the resounding success of The Color Run last year, we are proud to bring it back to Singapore for the second time. The eclectic mix of people, fun and excitement that we saw last year has truly left a mark in the hearts and minds of Singaporeans. This event provides CIMB with the right platform to inspire, reignite people’s passion and spread the unified message of health, happiness and the spirit of giving back to the community,”

said Mak Lye Mun, CEO, CIMB Bank Singapore.

Giving Back to the Community with a Splash

In keeping with The Color Run’s philosophy of giving back to the community, S$1 from every registration will be donated to Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC).

The SDSC is a non-profit, voluntary welfare organization registered with the Commissioner of Charities and is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth as well as Sport Singapore. It is dedicated to providing sports and recreational activities to people with disabilities.

To commemorate the second year of the event, CIMB has also created a unique Facebook application – ‘CIMB SPLASH’, a virtual realm for people to simulate the spectacle, much like the real event, as they journey through the colour zones onsite. Fans of CIMB Singapore are encouraged to participate in the ‘CIMB SPLASH’ contest and submit their most vibrant, creative and colourful profile pictures for voting through the application on Facebook. Held from 26 June to 23 July, the 25 most voted profile pictures will each win a pair of tickets!

Exclusive Deals for CIMB Bank Customers

The first 2,000 CIMB Bank retail customers are entitled to register for The Color Run prior to public registration. For this exclusive priority purchase, they will also enjoy 10% discount off The Color Run registration fee using the discount code provided by CIMB Bank Singapore.

In addition, customers who open or top up their retail Singapore Dollar Fixed Deposit account or CIMB StarSaver account or, alternatively, CIMB customers who purchase an investment or insurance product, will be entitled to ticket(s) depending on the value of investment.
