Asia offers some of the most beautiful and serene beaches in the entire world. And while there is no shortage of beach sports, exotic events, and nightlife, many beaches are also great places for you to lace up and run in. Whether you are someone who likes tranquil short runs or marathons that require months of training, Asia offers it all.

It is exciting to “announce the birth” of a new foot stage race slated for the Kansai region of Japan from 3 to 11 October 2015. But given the arduous distance runners face, will competitors focus on beauty and history or will the physical effects of a 200km ultra marathon take precedence? If you’re trying to decide whether to attempt this extreme event, here’s what you can expect.
