The 36th annual Gold Coast Airport Marathon is on track to host a strong international field of runners this year, including a band of elite athletes with the credentials to shatter race record times across the 5 – 6 July race weekend.

Held in conjunction with Penang UNESCO Heritage Day, runners will get to see the sights of Georgetown with the Forward Oats King Sports Run on 3 August 2014. There will be 2 categories for the Forward King Oats Sports Run: the 21km Competitive Half Marathon, and the 7km Fun Run.

The International Medical University (IMU) Chariofare Charity Run supports the idea of running for a social cause. The aim is to raise funds to support the university’s charity partners, so that they can continue to serve and care for the disadvantaged members of society.

Training for a marathon can be a daunting task, and many prefer partnering with a running buddy or training in a group to provide accountability and encouragement.

600 people with rainbow coloured umbrellas will throng the roads heading to Penang Botanical Garden on Sunday morning, June 29th with compassion and strong charitable spirit to provide financial aid to poor cancer patients.
