It’s the night before race day, one of the hardest periods of running that you are forced to deal with time and time again. You get a bit of anxiety before each race as you mentally prepare and psych yourself out, which ruins your sleeping schedule and makes it impossible to get your full eight hours of sleep. This is a big problem because it will affect your performance in the race tomorrow, so what can you do about it?

Runner’s knee is also prevalent in many sports other than running, such as netball, basketball, fencing and badminton. About 2 in 10 of the athletes we treat suffer from runner’s knee as we deal mainly with national athletes from a large variety of sports.

Although cross training workouts may be quite different from running, the benefits of cross training workouts translate to running surprisingly well. Benefits such as improving your muscular strength, enhancing your injury resistance, and allowing for active recovery all make cross training a great idea for any runner.
