The 36th annual Gold Coast Airport Marathon is on track to host a strong international field of runners this year, including a band of elite athletes with the credentials to shatter race record times across the 5 – 6 July race weekend.

There are plenty of different reasons to run in the Gold Coast Airport Marathon and some people are going through this event more for the view than anything else. Gold Coast is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and there are plenty of people who vacation here without having any plans to run in the marathon. Located on the eastern shores of Australia, it is not hard to spend the day swimming, surfing or simply hanging out with friends and family members in the aftermath of the marathon.
The 35th annual Gold Coast Airport Marathon will be staged over the weekend on the 6th and 7th July 2013 in one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world in Queensland, Australia.
I was given the opportunity to run the Gold Coast Marathon, courtesy of a competition run by Men’s Health Singapore Magazine. Gold Coast was my third marathon of which the previous two had also been done overseas.
