People in the Philippines are very interested in maintaining their health and keeping their lives active. Running is a very good way to do both, and there are many trails that are wonderful for running in the Philippines. Many people are interested in running as a sport and exercise, and this is a wonderful place to do so whether you want a difficult trail to challenge yourself or an easy trail to navigate.

It’s a primary law of physics: What goes up, must come down—or at least that’s what Sir Isaac Newton proved after watching that apple fall from a tree. In Singapore, going up and down has equally scientific roots. The fitness community is enamoured with extreme sports competitions, which is why events that send people scurrying up tall building stairwells to nab medals and prizes aren’t uncommon. But the art of stair climbing takes a revolutionary step on 3 October 2015 when the first ever “vertical endurance event” is held at the Singapore National Stadium. Organisers call it the “Singapore Sports Hub Stepper” (SSHS). We call it downright exhilarating, which is why you’ll want to step up to this first-time competition.

Who says guys don’t care about quality, style and fit when they pursue their favourite athletic endeavors? Not us! Savvy men know that if the clothing they buy to run, workout and otherwise engage in sports with doesn’t fit properly or hold up, what’s the point? Perhaps that’s the reason international sports enthusiasts love the Newline brand of fashionable, trendy, hard-working separates. Guys look good, their garb stands up to rugged endeavours, yet these separates wash like a dream. Newline just introduced a trio of new designs for their Imotion collection. After all, dressing for comfort and style doesn’t have to be limited to formal occasions!

When the host of the U.S. TV show “Family Feud” asked contestants to name famous people named Newton, their answers included entertainers Wayne Newton and Olivia Newton-John, iconic physicist Sir Isaac Newton and even the Nabisco brand cookie Fig Newton. Not a soul named American Jerry Lee, the guy who co-opted the name Newton to brand his athletic shoe company!

When September rolls around and kids go back to school, John Dave Ng will run his very first charity marathon—a 70 km event on behalf of children whose childhoods were stolen after being sold into Vietnam’s sex trafficking system. Ng’s efforts on behalf of an organisation dedicated to stopping sex trafficking—Australia’s Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation—may be his first effort on behalf of this worthy cause, but it certainly won’t be his last as he uses his legs and his heart to give these kids what they deserve: freedom and the chance to live normal, happy lives.

Close your eyes and imagine this with me. You’re hurtling downhill, surefooted like a mountain goat. Rocks, roots, steps, mud, nothing gets in your way. Suddenly the path ahead curves steeply up, beyond your line of sight. You shorten your stride and bump up your cadence, in effect ‘cycling’ up the hill in front of you. All the while, far removed from the concrete, traffic and pollution of the city. Just you, your feet, and the constant rhythm of your own breathing.
