The thermometer is creeping over 30 degrees Celsius and humidity is 70%. The relentless sun is beating down and you resemble a tap with sweat dripping off every orifice of your body. For those living in warm climates, this is a daily scenario we are all too familiar with when we venture outside for our daily jogs.

We runners in Singapore have a love/hate relationship with our hot and humid climate. Sometimes, we just want to have a cool break in another country.

Located in Victoria, Australia, the famous seaside route will attract thousands of participants from across the country and around the world on 16 and 17 May 2015.

Even though I try to treat my body well, sometimes stress, work and family obligations interfere with my healthy eating habits and usual training diet. When it happens, I have to work hard to get back on track, particularly if an important running event is on my calendar.

I felt as though I was on the biggest mission of my life when I started shopping for my new pair of running shoes because I consider shoes to be the most important gear I own. Besides, I was sad to see my old shoes retired. I felt like I was saying goodbye to an old friend! I was able to narrow my choices down to a couple of brands and styles and I’m happy I chose the Reebok Z Pump Fusion running shoe after a long decision-making process. Is the shoe perfect? That’s a silly question because nothing’s perfect, but I’m always willing to overlook a few negatives if they’re as inconsequential as those I discovered while doing my shoe research!

The sixth edition of the NTUC Income Run 350, organised by Young NTUC wooed around 12,000 participants to the F1 Pit Building, Marina Promenade in Singapore at 5 a.m. on Sunday morning with the event theme, “My Climate, My Responsibility”.
